Trauma can cause a deep and intense feeling of hopelessness and helplessness.  It can leave you feeling as if your life has control over you and no matter what you try to do to overcome difficulties, the vivid memories and intense fear and anxiety keep holding you back.

EMDR therapy can help!

I know what it is like to live with trauma and to feel like you have managed to get past it only for it to show back up years later.  The intense anxiety, fear, depression that it leaves in your body can be discouraging and lead you to feel like giving up.

There was even a time in my career as a therapist where I believed that the only thing I could do for clients with trauma was to offer support to manage their symptoms.  I felt hopeless to help alleviate those triggers.  Then I became trained in EMDR and experienced it for myself.

Clients have told me during EMDR that it feels like “Magic”.

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.

During EMDR you focus briefly on a distressing event and with Bi-lateral Stimulation (eye movements, tapping, and other alternatives) the event becomes less intrusive, less emotional, and less debilitating.  You move forward with a sense of healing and peace.

EMDR is used to treat symptoms for:

  • PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)

  • ADD (Attention Deficit Disorders)

  • Eating Disorders

  • DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder)

  • ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • ….and many more

I use EMDR in my work with children, teens, and adults.

My belief is that our hard stories can be re-written and become something we not only can learn from but can use to benefit others in our lives.  Let’s work together to re-write your story and gain control of your life.
